MARSHMALLOW ROOT

Althea Officinalis

The primary medicinal component is mucilage, which soothes both internally & externally.  Alleviates irritations of the mucous membranes in the bronchial tubes, urinary tract, intestines, stomach, throat & mouth.  Helps remedy asthma, sore throats, gum inflammation, bronchitis, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, colitis & cystitis.  Externally the root aids the healing of inflamed skin, including burns & wounds.

CAUTION: Coats the lining of the digestive tract and may prevent the absorption of other medications.  Wait 1 hour after meds before using internally.  Seek medical advice.
