Nervine, Anti-spasmodic, Cardiac, Diuretic, Stimulant. Acts on the circulatory system, first raising blood pressure and then lowering it below the initial level and speeding up the pulse. Stimulates glandular activity related to digestion. Used externally on leg ulcers and varicose veins. Quiets, soothes and tones the nervous system. May soothe headache caused by high blood pressure. Current cancer research suggests it may have some anti-tumor activity.
