Verbascum Thapsus  

Before modern medicine it was used to relieve coughs and ease expectoration of tuberculosis.  Today its main use is for coughs, colds, flu and respiratory infections.  Sometimes recommended for colic, digestive upsets, nervous tension and insomnia.  In ancient times, mullein was prized as a magical plant that could ward off demons and sorcerers evil spells.  Externally use a poultice for difficult wounds and sores.
