New Moon Magick*
New moon magick can be done anytime from the day of the new moon to 3 1/2 days after. For the best use of this magick, it should be performed between dawn and sunset. New moon magick is generally used to conjure beauty, health and self improvement. Job hunting, love and romance are also good subjects for new moon magick.
Full Moon Magick*
Full moon magick is best done at midnight 14 days after the New moon. Full moon magick is generally used to conjure artistic endeavors; healing, health & fitness; change & decisions; children; dreams; families; legal matters; money; love; protection and psychic matters as well as many other issues.
WORT MOON
When the sun was high, the worts (from the Anglo-Saxon wyrt plant) were gathered to be dried and stored. "Wort" is an Old English word for plants with medicinal and culinary uses, and over the past few centuries it has been almost completely replaced in English by the word "herb," which was borrowed from the French. But you still see the word "wort" in occasional use.
As the Wort Moon of July waxes full, this is the time for gathering of herbs. When the magickal herbs have been gathered and hung to dry, the time of the Wort Moon is the time to give thanks to the spirits who dwell in the herb garden, and to leave them an offering. Perhaps as you place an offering in the moonlit garden, they will whisper to you other secrets of herbal magick.
