Carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils that will be applied directly to the skin. If not diluted, essential oils may cause irritation or even burn the skin. Essential oils are often used during massage and should be cut with a carrier oil first. If at any time you plan to use an essential oil on your skin, it is your responsibility to be informed.
